Completely corrupt business.

Original review Sep 13, 2019
Took a Corolla in to trade. They offered $2500. Agreed to this, but knew it was a low offer. Came in to buy a 2017 RAV4 advertised on the internet on sale for $18,500. Salesman said yes to this price. We were sent to the financial guy who had us sign the sales agreement. When we got a copy of the agreement in the mail they had charged us $27,000 for the RAV4 and had our trade in valued at $2100. Am thinking of taking this to court. Is anyone here interested in going and telling their Oxmoor story?

BAD customer service

I Had been corresponding with Megan Shirley via email about a 2010 Toyota Camry. She was helpful in negotiating a price between me and her manager. We agreed on a price and I filled out the online finance application and emailed it to your dealership. I was going to pay 7,000.00 cash down an finance the balance. Megan ask when I could come in for a test drive and finalize the deal. I told her 7 pm that night ( Wed. ) She said she looked forward to meeting me. I drove 170 from Indiana all to be told the keys were locked in a trailer and Ms. Shirley was not there. Needless to say my wife left in tears because I was buying her the care for our 30th wedding anniversary. A young man Joe Deitz tried his best to help and asked what I believe was a finance manager for help. The manager was on the phone for quite sometime and told Joe " I don't know what to tell them ". Meaning my wife and I. I have bought 3 Toyota Camry's in the past several years from other dealership ( Beck, Carver and Weise ) and have never experienced the unprofessionalism as at your dealership. We waited and waited to test drive the car and take our money. But neither happened. Is Oxmoor Toyotas business that great that they don't need my business? The dealership knew I was on my way to buy the car 2 hours ahead of time and failed to have the car and keys waiting for me. I thought you needed to know about this incident so many it will not happen to someone else. I will be contacting Toyota Customer Experience Center directly to inform them of lack of customer service at Oxmoor Toyota.

Bad very bad business

Purchased a Mazda almost did not make it home, then tool it to our mechanic and he stated the transmission had a large hole in it if they had serviced it they knew it> Called oxmoor and the first person I spoke to was a *** by the name of Matt. Patrick was more pleasant so they picked up the vehicle from my mechanic because it is not drivable. So now they have my trade in and the Mazda. they are not willing to work with me and from these reviews I do not want a vehicle from them

2010 Infiniti G37x Car Review from Louisville, Kentucky

Ok so I bought a 2010 Infiniti G 37X from Oxmoor Toyota with no warranty, big mistake. I took it to infinity ( just down the street ) because a month later the brakes started to kind of jump on the brake pedal.

Infinity told me $500.00 included a though look of the car & changed the oil no charge hey it's an infinity so not so bad, I like good brakes, but two months later I had been jumping the battery 3 times, back to Infiniti. Infiniti told me they charged battery no charge. Took car to personal friend who had a whole slew of different types of battery checkers & said battery has a dead cell. Consumer report said Costco had the best battery so off to Costco.

One month later dead battery needed jump, back to Infinity. Google said it's common for the G37 to gave a a bad main computer chip that Infiniti did not list as a recall.

Infinity tested car with computer diagnostic tool & said I need a new one, but never mention price to replace $915.00 later I was fuming but know better to *** off dealer mechanics. Lessons learned get some kind of warranty in the negotiations to buy car.

Oxmoor Toyota - 2010 Infiniti G37X Review from Middletown, Kentucky

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I showed up to see a 2010 Infinity G37x for 19000 they said the price increased to 21000 i said I was insulted and they can't do that, they had my salesman going back and forth for over 2 hours. They offered me four times less for my than CARMAX agreed to buy it outright, so we agreed to 18000 but there fees came to 800.00. So I buy the car wire the money and pick up the car. The car so low on gas I was afraid I would run out of gas to the gas station, they put $10.00 in less than half full. They had me one key I said where is the other key, you have to buy it your self. Hey you can't make this up. Do your self a favor check out the car you want on car guru dealers list car's there and list the best deal in your area. Hey trust me read all the bad reviews on this place they treat you like a piece of meat.

I went to Oxmoor to look at a truck advertised on the Internet. I had about 10 more payments left on a car i had purchased from another Toyota dealership in Kentucky. Before i knew what had hit me i left in a truck. In the past 4 months i have learned many things about salesman and their practices. This was my first brand new vehicle and it will be my last. I am pretty sure i own a fleet vehicle. I also believe i was subjected to some kind of tried and true psychological sales warfare. I also bought a stripped down truck that i believe to be a fleet vehicle. Toyota corporate has a case file on my problems but no one ever calls me back. I do love alot about the truck itself except for one thing. There is no chip in the key and some guys stole one set on a jobsite. I am going to have to get the ignition and the door locks replaced. I have read the term "bait and switch" in other reviews. I understand. I talked to another salesman who told me i could have had a pleasant experience and recieved a better equiped truck at a lower price. Even paying sticker. I have a printout from Toyota of that truck and it makes me feel *** for not reading these reviews before walking into Oxmoor. I have my vehicle serviced at Toyota on Nicholasville where i bought my car. They are awesome, courteous and professional. I wish i had driven the extra distance. I wouldn't feel like i got swindled. Beware.

Unethiical/illegal sales practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Based on the experience my wife and I had today (6/12/15) Oxmoor Toyota utilizes 'bait and switch advertising' to conduct sales of their new Toyota's. Here's what we experienced: We first shopped the Oxmoor website and found a special advertised sales price on a 2015 Toyota Avalon Limited of $37,940 (with a MSRP list price of $42,133); this price was verified on the phone with their internet sales representative. The website also provided a system that quoted a potential trade-in range for my vehicle (was was only a possible trade). We then went to the dealer for a test drive and were introduced to an on-site sales consultant (a nice young man) who then sat down with us and he used a "four box" pitch to outline the financial "deal;" that deal was priced quite differently than the advertised sale price for the Avalon -- and was an 'out-the-door' price (including taxes, dealer fees, etc) that appeared roughly add $7,000 to the advertised price. Without a doubt it was their attempt to rip us off! Following my immediate rejection of that initial quote, the nice sales consultant went to the sales managers desk and returned with a (not-so-friendly) sales manager who 'pushed to close the deal' and countered with another improved deal that still appeared to be $5-6,000 over the advertised pricing. Clearly this hustle was designed to make my wife and I feel that the sales manager was cutting $2,000 off the price, when, in fact, the real price was still $4-5,000 more than the advertised price; itemized details denoting all the financial were never offered or provided -- only the sales force verbals and the four-box sheet, which the sales staff kept. We won't be shopping at Oxmoor Toyota ever again and urge other to be wary of any Oxmoor Toyotas special pricing offers!

The same exact thing happened to me. Very sketchy.

They don’t show you the itemized cost list and keep flipping papers around pushing warranties. The sales price was $18,500. They charged us $25,000.

Then piled on other charges. They’re awful.

Oxmoor Toyota - Dodge Ram Trade Review from Walnut Creek, California

Traded my dodge ram in on a new scion they asked me for pay off and I gave them what was online realizing that they have sold many cars should have known that the statement doesn't show exact payoff and instead of them calling to verify first they write up the contract and put the price I had given which ended up being 300 plus dollars short so instead of them taking responsibility for it they made me come back in and sign a new contract to add in the difference. Once I show up I'm told it's to late to do so and am forced to pay themthe 300 in payments or right then. I went into detailing explaining this is a business if traded many cars in at other dealers and never had this issue why would you make a contract up with out knowing the exact pay off then either giving me back money if it was overage or making me come.back in to pay the difference. Donnie Nelson said that's how things are ran there to get the customer in and out without waiting anymore than had to. I'd rather wait a few minutes on a call than waste my time having to come back in and pay more money out of my pocket. I was furious and told them they just lost a customer over 300 dollars compared to the 23k I spent on the car if never been so unsatisfied in my life

I, and several people I know, have had downright illegal experiences with this place. I was sold a car with a missing title (found out a week later).

When I asked for answers, some young *** sales manager started talking down to me instead of answering. Here's to hoping I meet you out in public, bub.

My roommate was asked to bring in an additional $1600, two weeks after the paperwork was signed.

Another friend dropped off a car for service, was charged for it, and found the issue to persist. Oxmoor Toyota demanded he pay a second time for the issue they didn't fix.

DO NOT do business here

Saleman Cory at Oxmoor Toyota Used Cars

On May 17, 2013 I Went looking for a used car for my son at Oxmoor Toyota, we were immediately met by salesman named Cory. He showed us some cars, we found one we liked, test drove, went inside to haggle. Cory said he would provide CarFax report, fill car up with gas, detail car if we bought it today. The price of car was 9000.00 (Blue book Value excellent condition 7200.00). I made my best offer of 7100.00 and initially was declined, so I started to leave and a manager came out and asked "what's the problem?" I said no problem, car's price is more than I am willing to pay. Sales manager agreed to my price and a deal was struck. Cory came back with paperwork in a highly agitated state saying that,"He couldn't believe his boss had agreed to that price" "We are not making any money on this deal" " I hope you don't expect me to fill the car with gas after getting it at that price". My son actually asked me if I thought Cory was mad at us. I said why would he be mad he is in the business of selling cars and he just sold a car. Getting the CarFax report from him, was liking pulling teeth, he kept changing the subject. Being relentless I finally got the report after the deal was done, we discovered that vehicle had been in two accidents. I am a man of my word and I liked the car so we took it. I had financing done through my out of state credit union and they talked to Lauren in finance (*she required that I write a check for the full amount of car purchase $8324.00 that they would hold until the credit union money came in). They faxed legal documents back and forth and the deal was complete. Fast forward two weeks later I'm back in Vermont taking pictures of my daughter and her prom date at school when my phone rings and the salesman Cory is ranting and raving about me having to bring the car back to him before the end of the day, because it had not been paid yet. I asked him to calm down and i would call my Credit Union and find out what had happened. he wanted my son who is a student in Kentucky to bring the car back to him expeditiously. i told him to leave my son out of this, as i was taking care of this. he threatened to find the car and take it back if it was not brought back right away. I hung up called my CU and found out that the check had been mailed out on May 17 and that Oxmoor Toyota had cashed and deposited the money on May 24, 2013. A whole week before I got this threatening phone call. Lauren called and stated to disregard the CRAZY salesman's call. I called and left a voicemail on what i was told was the General manager's voicemail. I have not heard from anybody from OXMOOR TOYOTA as of yet. I would never again deal with these people, not a very good experience and I still have not received my check for the 8300.00 back from them.

We too had Cory as salesperson. For us he played the "cool out the mark" role.

The guy doing the dealing was a total ***. Lied but we had Kelly Blue Book printouts. Finally, got our price. Then had to visit the paperwork guy.

Even more of a ***. Wife wanted to kill him.

Now I'm reading that their service suck big time. Wish I'd never dealt with them.

Guest

we had the same experienced Cory the salesman changes subject every time we ask him a question hes rushing to sell the car for his own good! we know they work on commission but they shouldn't rip the customers, i wasn't happy with our 7% financing . I hope his conscience wouldn't put him to sleep may he realize what he did was wrong to the company and the consumers

somewhat similar experience a year ago, maybe the economy decline brought out the more pathological nature of used car sales, caveat emptor, unless you get what they tell you in writing or on video with good clear sound that will hold up in court and have experts who will testify to the authenticity of the video. Or just go buy a tesla, highest customer satisfaction in the car business, and probably highest average prices.

Oxmoor Toyota Customer Service... what a joke!

I wish there was a ZERO rating. My father and I walked around the lot for a good ten minutes and were never approached by a sales rep. We had to walk inside and ASK for someone to help us. So unprofessional, the receptionist was calling back and forth to get someone to come and speak with us. After WAITING, yet again, the sales rep comes over and is very un-enthusiacstic. And then there's the finance department.... Pittman I think his name was said I didn't "Look" like I made enough... I am so disgusted. I will never do business with them again.

Traded the new Highlander after 5 days

Such disrespect and illusions that I traded my new Highlander after 5 days. A $750 discount from Toyota was not even mentioned during the sales discussion. When I found out the rebate was available online, I was told that had actually given me this discount but not mentioned it. That made my trade in have less value than they represented. But I truly thought I could get past this point by calling it a misunderstanding. They did not have the vehicle I wanted but told me that another vehicle they had was equip the same as the one I ordered, I agreed to take it rather than wait the 7-10 weeks they said it would take to get my order. We make the trade and on delivery, I get no instruction on this particular vehicle. Just the keys and a request to give the salesman a good report. When I get the vehicle home, I discover it does NOT have all the features I ordered. SO, I decide that no more dealing with Oxmoor Toyota. I drove to a Cadillac dealership and traded in the Highlander with 48 miles. Spent more money , but got a great dealer who spent 2 hours showing me how my new SRX works. I would offer this advice. If you just have to deal with Oxmoor Toyota, read every piece of paper that place in front of you. Have them go over the vehicle you have chosen in great detail before you every sign a single piece of paper. If they do not have the vehicle you want on their lot, go someplace else. It seems that other dealerships are not willing to trade out vehicles with them. Oxmoor has to order from the factory. That should tell us something.

Actually, if you were not presented with the proper disclosure of the rebate the dealer may have to refund the money to you directly. Manufacturers have strict rules on the disclosure of rebates.

They can not be used as trade inflators etc. A complaint to Toyota may bring an audit of the deal and you get the $750. It has been a while since I have been in the business but it I can't imagine that they have changed the rules that much.

The state regulates such things also. Good luck.

DH

The parts department ordered a part and quoted a price, the service department changed prices. The service rep, Donna Skaggs, was rude and downright nasty. She started off by telling me that you should never order parts over the phone, you need to bring the vehicle in. Well I ordered the part from your parts person at your dealership...he doesn't know what he is doing?????? Sending letter to VP of Oxmoor Toyota and to Toyota North America....maybe to local tv stations also. These people have been doing this for many years. I stopped going to them years ago, but thought I would give them another chance. They are still up to their same old tricks.
